Lowest priced chains such as those from China are good for smaller bikes upto around 500cc but best grade up to our IRIS chains for larger or powerful bikes. IRIS motorbike chains are used by many motorcycle manufacturers as an original (OEM) product and are tested to the extreme by professional superbike riders. Standard IRIS chains are good but your motorcycle manufacturer may recommend fitting a stronger grade of chain such as an O-Ring or X-Ring chain. Manufactured in Europe to meet ISO 9001 standards, the O-Rings on our chains are of the highest quality material assuring you many hours of trouble free operation. Due to lower level of friction on an X-Ring chain, its operation is softer and cooler because it engages better than traditional O-Ring chains. X-Ring increases the lifetime of the chain considerably and are specially designed to be used on high powered as well as touring bikes. The benefits of the X-Ring chains over O-Ring chains are substantial. Always check your manufacturers recommendations when it comes to drive chains as we only list various grades of chains as options.
