X-Ring Chain
In these chains an
X-shaped rubber seal is fitted between the inner and outer links, the extra two
points against the links retain internal grease and stop dirt entering. With
characteristic lower friction levels and increased running performance over
O-ring chains, X-ring chains are recommended for higher powered and touring
bikes.
O-Ring Chains
These chains
incorporate a rubber O-shaped seal that fits between the inner and outer links.
This seal ensures that the grease between the pin and solid bush is retained and
offers permanent internal lubrication. With the dual purpose of stopping dirt
working into the chain, the seals help prolong the life of the chain. |
