You are more likely to require 7/8" grips rather than 1" grips. 7/8" (22mm) and 1" (25mm) is the outer diameter (OD) of your handlebar. 1" bars are always found on Harley Davidsons and some Honda's etc. but the Honda Shadow for example has bars that are 1" at the clamp area and 7/8" at the control area where your grips and levers fit.
